Practice Experience 

During Attorney Qiu’s legal practice in the last 13 years, she provided professional and efficient legal services in corporate law and investment. She advised Wanda Group and its subsidiaries on their investment in and M&A of other domestic companies, provided legal services to foreign companies on their investment in China, represented clients on their disputes over share transfer and investment, and served as a general counsel to several famous domestic companies.

Attorney Qiu served for Grandall Law Group, Canway Law Firm, and V&T Law Firm. She joined Matrix LLP in August 2024. When studying in the U.S., she served as a Judicial Extern for Judge Timothy Barnes in the Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and she practiced in Legal Ethics Consulting, P.C. providing legal services for Illinois lawyers regarding their disputes with clients.

Attorney Qiu became a member of the Beijing Lawyers Association’s “Talent Pool” of the Beijing lawyers practicing foreign-related business law since 2023, and she became a member of the Cross-border Investment and M&A Committee of the Beijing Lawyers Association since July 2024. She has been admitted to practice law in both China and New York State, U.S. Her working languages are Mandarin Chinese and English.

1. Investment and M&A

• Advising Dalian Wanda Commercial Properties Co., Ltd. and its subsidiaries on their M&A projects;

• Providing legal services to a telecom company on its investment in Tanzania, Nigeria, etc.;

• Providing legal services to foreign-invested companies on their establishment, mergers and acquisitions, and capital increase.

2. Dispute Resolution

•  Representing a BVI registered company before Court of appeal against a domestic company for a dispute over profit distribution;

•  Representing a Malaysia company in CIETAC arbitration against a domestic individual for a dispute over share transfer;

•  Representing a domestic company in arbitrations and litigations for disputes over sale and purchase agreements.

3. General Counsel

• Acting as a general counsel for Wanda Group and its subsidiaries;

• Acting as a general counsel for Beijing Telecom-Telecom Information Technology Co., Ltd.;

• Acting as a general counsel for foreign-invested companies.
